How do I turn the voice on or off?

Tap the speaker icon in the top-right of the home screen or the in-game header. The icon shows a sound-wave when voice is on, and a slash when voice is off. Your choice is remembered for next time.

What ages is the app for?

CJ's Word Match is designed for children ages 3 to 7. Toddlers ages 2 to 3 enjoy it with a parent's help. There are no fail screens, no time pressure, and no penalty mechanics — every run earns something.

Does the app work without an internet connection?

Yes. The app works completely offline. Nothing downloads mid-game, nothing buffers, and nothing requires a Wi-Fi or cellular connection. It's the same experience on a plane or in the car as at home.

Are there any ads or in-app purchases?

No. Zero ads. Zero in-app purchases. Zero things to buy. The app is free, and that's the whole product.

How do I see my child's progress?

From the home screen, you can see total stars, best score, sticker album progress (e.g. 33/183), and a streak counter showing how many days in a row your child has played. Each level tile shows the stars earned. Tap the 📖 chip to open the sticker album, organized by category.

How do I delete my child's progress?

All data is stored locally on your device. To remove everything, simply uninstall the app — there is no cloud account or server-side data to clean up. Reinstalling the app starts fresh.

The app froze or crashed — what should I do?

Force-quit the app and relaunch it. Your child's progress is saved automatically and will not be lost. If the issue keeps happening, please email [email protected] with your device model and the iOS / Android version, and we'll look into it.

What's the difference between the Daily Puzzle and a regular level?

The Daily Puzzle is a fresh level generated for that calendar day. Every device gets the same puzzle on the same day, but a new puzzle every day. Stickers from the daily count toward the album, but it doesn't affect the level stars or best score.

What is Memory Mode?

Memory Mode flips all the cards face-down. Tap two cards to peek; if they're a matching picture-and-word pair, they stay face-up. If not, they flip back after a moment. Stars are awarded based on how few mismatches you make.

Will my purchases or progress carry over to a new phone or tablet?

If you've enabled iCloud Backup (iOS) or Google Drive backup (Android) at the device level, app progress is included in those standard system backups and will restore when you set up a new device with the same Apple ID or Google account. We do not provide any cross-device sync ourselves — everything stays local to your device.

Is the app COPPA-compliant? Is it safe for kids?

Yes. The app is published in Apple's Kids Category and Google Play's Designed for Families program. It collects no data from any user, contains no third-party SDKs, and shows no ads. What is stored on your device

The following is saved locally on your device only, in the operating system's standard local-app-preferences area (UserDefaults on iOS / iPadOS, SharedPreferences on Android), and is never sent anywhere:

Uninstalling the app removes all of this data. The data is included in your device's standard backup and device-to-device-transfer features (iCloud Backup on iOS / iPadOS, Google Drive backup on Android) only if you have enabled those at the device level — and even then, only your local progress data, never personal information.
